But he now has to share this record with the South African pacer Kagiso Rabada as the 20-year-old Proteas bowler made a dream debut against Bangladesh on last Friday when he also picked up a hat-trick on debut.

However, the pioneer to this record, Taijul, said he has no regrets on sharing his record with Rabada.

“It is always good to share the record rather than holding it individually”, Taijul Islam was quoted as saying in the Pakistan Observer. “Till now only my fans were able to cherish this record but now they (fans) will have a company of Rabada’s fans as well”, he added.

Taijul watched the performance of Rabada from his home . “It was heavily raining in the morning and I was unsure whether the match would be played today therefore I decided against going at the stadium.”

The 24-year-old Taijul has not been in the team for the ongoing ODI series against the Proteas. “The selectors have felt that I am a player of the Test team and have chosen Arafat Sunny in my place”, he added.

Taijul also said that if gets a chance, he will congratulate Rabada.
