Tamim eyeing comeback in ODI series
Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal, who is still recovering from the fractured wrist is eyeing a comeback in the upcoming ODI series against Windies.
Tamim was all set to make a comeback in the ongoing Test series, but a side strain during a practice session has held him back one again. But he is now hopeful of recovering in time and play the ODI series, which starts from December 9.
However, he will play the practice match on December 6 and after seeing his fitness, a decision will be taken for the ODI series.
Tamim told reporters on Saturday:
“If everything goes well I should be available from the beginning of the ODIs against West Indies. ut before that I am looking forward to play the practice game at BKSP.”
Tamim’s injury nightmare began during the first game of the Asia Cup and had to return home straight after that. Although, he played with the injured wrist in the ongoing game and helped Mushfiqur Rahim to play a blinder of an innings. It helped Bangladesh, in the end to clinch a thumping victory against Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been named as the captain for the practice match and a 13-man squad has been announced.
