Due to the influence of low pressure, continuous rain was falling in the country, so the desired preparation for the T20 World Cup was not going as planned for the Bangladesh
cricketers. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) therefore wanted to hold a conditioning camp in UAE. Seizing that opportunity, the Emirates Board proposed to host two T20 Internationals.
As BCB accepted that offer, the Bangladesh team went on a tour to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Tigers will play two international matches there, but the main focus is preparation. The Bangladesh team are satisfied with the practice facilities before taking to the field in the first T20 of the two-match series on September 25.
The team led by Nurul Hasan
Sohan practiced at the ICC Academy on Friday (September 23) after arriving in Dubai. At that time spin bowling coach Rangana Herath said, “We needed a camp for good practice. That is why this event is in Dubai. Since the World Cup is ahead, it has special importance. Boys will get ample opportunity to practice as a team. These wickets in particular will help the boys.”
The team is satisfied with the practice facilities available in the UAE before the match. Herath added, “The facilities we are getting here are in one word ‘the best’. We got this advantage in the Asia Cup as well. We get the same here. If we talk about these two matches, I am sure the boys will get many opportunities to play matches.”
Although Shakib Al Hasan
is not in the team for this series, the team is not worried. The spin coach further said, “Shakib may not be playing. But others will get ample opportunity to play good cricket. I know that the UAE team is also playing well. I hope the series will be good. The boys will also be able to prepare well before the World Cup.”
