  • Tigers showed their class in do or die battle in ICC Under-19 World Cup. They restricted United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a a low total and later chased without any trouble. Rakibul's side confirmed their spot in Quarter Final with this formidable win.
    Defending champions reach Quarter Finals with another convincing win During this closing match of the group stage, the defending champions won by 9 Wickets in the D/L method on Saturday. 
    United Arab Emirates scored only 148 runs batting first in the game.  Bangladesh were later set a new target of 107 runs in 35 Overs after rain interrupted in the game, which they chased with 61 balls remaining to be bowled. Mahfijul scored an unbeaten 64 off 69 deliveries, to ensure the convincing win of his side.
    Bangladesh who started the mission with a defeat against England has made a successful comeback in the tournament with two back to back wins. Therefore with two wins out of three matches in the group stage has ensured their next round spot as group runners up. English boys has ended as group champions with wins in all three matches.

    The game was do or die for both sides. Bangladesh started off brilliantly after winning the toss. Ashiqur striked twice during his second and third over of the innings. The bowler ended his opening spell with a fiery figure of two wickets for just six runs including double maiden overs. 
    Parashar and Sharafu tried to rebuild the innings in the third wicket partnership. Skipper Sharafu who scored steady knock off 63 balls 23 runs was caught behind by Tanzim Hasan. 
    Tiger captain Rakibul took the responsibility to sent back other set batter Parashar (33 off 82 balls). And it was the beginnings off the batting collapse for the Arab country. Punya Mehra was the top scorer for them scoring 43 runs off 64 balls along with three boundaries. 
    Whereas Ripon was the pick of Bangladeshi bowlers taking three wickets for 31 runs. He earlier grabbed 4 wickets for 24 runs in the game against Canada as well.
    Mahfijul and Iftakher started the chase with cautious batting and they were able to score just 8 runs in the first four overs. But it changed in the next over as Mahfijul stroked three boundaries. 
    The duo completed fifty run partnership in the twlevth over. But the 86 runs opening partnership ended as Iftakher was bowled out. He scored 37 runs in his 70 deliveries, with three boundaries along with a six.
    It was then the rain inturupted for a long while. But it did not effected the result as Mahfijul took the team over the line with Nabil after it resumed. The opener stroked 6 fours and 2 sixes during his unbeaten innings of 64 runs.
    The finalists of last editions World Cup will face each other on next Saturday.
