Bangladesh Cricket team defeated the New Zealand Cricket team at Cardiff in Wales, during an important Do- or Die encounter between both the teams. Bangladesh with win have now kept their hopes alive for the mega semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy, but will need to wait for the result for the other remaining match of the group-A between the host England Cricket team and the Australian Cricket team. The result in the historic Ashes rivals will decide their fate in the tournament now, as they need Morgan’s side to defeat the world champions to come as winner tomorrow. But before that today Bangladesh have done exactly what was needed by them to do.

Tigers restricted the Black Caps for a average total of 265, after losing the toss in the tournament which has been a run festival so far. Then while chasing the Men in Red and Green had the worst possible start losing four wickets for no time but experienced Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad then formed a match winning partnership.

They added record 224 runs in the fifth wicket stand, making sure Bangladesh do not let the opportunity to play the semi-final go in vain without a fight. Both Shakib and Mahmudullah scored their first ever Champions trophy ton as well. Shakib was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance.

It was the second ever victory for Bangladesh in their second match at the very same ground. Earlier, they defeated the world champions Australia during the Natwest cricket series back in 2005. For which they have once again earned the applaud from the whole cricket world in twitter.
