Trinbago Knight Riders claimed their seventh win among nine games distressing Barbados Tridents by 9 runs.

In the 28th match of the Caribbean Premier League, Trinbago showcased an all-around performance managed to restrict Barbados before 9 runs of the winning margin in a cliff match situation at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Sent into bat first, Trinbago Knight Riders poised to 180 in their 20 overs, contributed by Denesh Ramdin’s half century. He and Munro cross passed hundred for TKR in the first half of the innings.

Imran Khan struck twice to take both the wickets of Ramdin and Munro in successive overs, thus fruitfully locked Trinbago well before two hundred.

Barbados, lately, though lost wickets regularly, progressed well towards the target with all of their batsmen reached the double figure mark.

Wicket keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran gathered the highest – spent 32 balls in his highest 44 slamming 4 sixes and 2 fours on the way.

Khary Pierre was the most economical though Fawad Ahmed accounted three wickets for 28 and was adjudged man of the match.

Trinbago top the point table with 14 points while St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have 11 points with them playing one more match than TKR.

Guyana Amazon Warriors are in the third spot.

Meanwhile the loss against Trinbago left Barbados Tridents languishing at the bottom of the point table.
