Cheteshwar Pujara’s 16th Test ton took India to recovery on day 1 of the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy in Adelaide Oval.

The most awaited Test series between India and Australia has just started in Adelaide Oval and the hosts clearly had a dominant day on the opening day of the four-match Test series.

Even though there were high talks on the Indian cricket team before the start of the series, the visitors had more struggle on day 1 with a bat as they subjected to a drastic batting collapse.

After India won the toss and elected to bat first, they got off to a poor start, having lost quite a few quick wickets. All three of KL Rahul, Murali Vijay, and skipper Virat Kohli got out, fishing outside the off-stump. At one stage India looked more trouble and was hard to score 200.

However, the visitors had a fortune from the no.3 batsman Cheteshwar Pujara as the right-handed batsman took the team to the recovery path. Pujara scored his 16th Test ton and got out right before the stumps on day 1 following a sharp throw from Pat Cummins.
