Fast bowling all-rounders Dananjaya Lakshan and Ishan Jayaratne have tested positive for coronavirus prior to Sri Lanka’s tour of Bangladesh.

Lakshan and Jayaratne’s positive results came when they attended antigen tests before taking the vaccines.

The two are not part of proposed 18-man squad for Bangladesh tour. Instead, they have been named in the 28-man provisional squad for T20I and ODI series against England (away).

Sri Lanka are scheduled to fly for Bangladesh on May 16 before taking on Bangladesh in the first of the three ODIs on May 23. They will then meet England for three T20Is and as many ODIs in June-July.

Kusal Perera, the wicket-keeper batter, is likely to take over the captaincy after Sri Lanka have opted for a new-look team in limited-overs cricket.
