VIDEO: AB de Villiers’ all 6 sixes in his 22-ball 55* during RR vs RCB game

AB de Villiers becomes second foreign player to enter 4k runs elite club

When AB de Villiers is on the song, it is not an easy job for the opponent bowlers to tackle him. His unbeaten 73 at Sharjah was a superb inning, but the match-winning knock of 55 off just 22 delivery against Rajasthan Royals were brilliant.

It does not matter for de Villiers if the sizes of boundaries are big or short. Once he settles, he has an ability to hit the sixes on any ground in the world.

The same happened during the game between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. When RCB needed 76 off just 41 deliveries, both the settled batsmen, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli got out off consecutive deliveries.

After losing both the settled batsmen, the pressure was shifted to the new batsmen in the form of AB de Villiers. However, he did not take any pressure and played his usual inning at his best.

His first six of the inning came off Jofra Archer in the 16th over when the bowler bowled a short pitch delivery which travelled over mid-wicket fielder. De Villiers’ second six came during the over off Unadkat in the 17th over.

However, there was still some pressure on the wicket-keeper batsman as his team needed 35 off last two overs. With their best bowler Archer’s one over still left, the skipper Steve Smith handed over the ball to Unadkat to bowl the 19th over.

As everyone expected, the left-arm pacer bowled cutters and slower deliveries in the 19th over. AB de Villiers who decided to launch an attack on left-arm pacer, ended up hitting three consecutive sixes. Deservingly, he finished the game with a huge six off Jofra Archer.
