VIDEO: ‘Not quick enough like Dhoni’ says Matthew Wade

The stump mic in Australia has always been an interesting thing to watch. But, we have witnessed nothing so far in the series. However, it changed during the 2nd T20I when Matthew Wade made a funny comment after missing a stumping.

While chasing a huge total against Australia, the Indian openers provided them with a good start. On the final delivery of the 9th over, Dhawan wanted to play cut shot the short pitch delivery which was bowled by Mitchell Swepson.

The left-handed batsman missed the shot and the wicket-keeper waited for Dhawan to get his feet above the crease to get a quick stumping. The stand-in skipper of the Australian T20I side disturbed the stumps and appealed for the stumping.

During the replay, Shikhar Dhawan did not take his feet in the air as he was understanding the situation. The on-field umpire waited for the third umpire’s decision who found out that Dhawan was completely safe.

The wicket-keeper should have disappointed after missed stumping but he saw a funny side of it. He said, “Not Dhoni, not quick enough like Dhoni”. Dhawan, who was on strike at that time, responded him with a smile.
