Video: Saini bowls a gem of a ball to dismiss Gunathilaka
The first T20I between India and Sri Lanka was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. However, the second match in Indore got off to a pretty good start, with India pressing the case for themselves after opting to bowl first.
During the course of the match, India fast bowler Navdeep Saini hogged the limelight as he bowled a pinpoint yorker to dispatch Sri Lanka opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka at the best scene. The drama unfolded on the very fourth ball of the eighth over when Navdeep Saini bowled a super-fast delivery that clocked 147.5 kmph.
But that raw pace was too hot to handle for Gunathilaka and the latter failed to connect the ball and ended up getting bowled. Saini made a complete mess of the stumps and received plaudits for his wonderful bowling.
Opening batting alongside Avishka Fernando (22), 28-year old Gunathilaka could only score 20 (21) with the help of three fours. Saini, who was brought into the attack early on in the innings, impressed his captain by making an instant impact with the ball as he picked a wicket.
