Virat Kohli has been included in the T20 squad for the much-anticipated Asian Cup, which features a blockbuster clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.
The last edition of the tournament was a 50-over competition but this time the format will be T20 and India will seek revenge after suffering a 10-wicket loss to their Asian neighbors in the World T20 last year.
Ex-India captain Virat Kohli has started training just over a few weeks before the eagerly awaited Asian Cup. BCCI announced India's squad for the Asian Cup earlier this week and it was Kohli's return that grabbed the headlines. Kohli, who was sidelined after the England tour, began training at the BKC Complex in Mumbai. In a video that is now going viral, Kohli can be seen training indoors. To warm up, Kohli - who has faced a lot of criticism lately - starts walking between the gates.
According to the source, Kohli will start training this week at the MCA Indoor Academy at Bandra Kurla Complex. It is worth noting that Kohli's Mumbai residence is in the Worli Omkar Building, which is only 20 minutes from MCA Academy in BKC. Because of this, Kohli decided to train at the academy in BKC.
Kohli would be there in his 100th T20I as India take on Pakistan in a much-anticipated duel at the upcoming Asian Cup. It was the same venue where Pakistan defeated India for the first time in a World Cup match last year. With that in mind, it's wise to say that Babar Azam and company would start as favourites.
His bat hasn't been speaking for himself lately and he's looking to change that ahead of the T20 Worlds in Australia later in the year. Kohli would not be part of the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.
Fans would be hoping he returns to form as it would be a big boost for the side going into the World Cup later in the year. He is expected to join the rest of the squad in the UAE.
