Upon the successful leadership in the Nidahas Trophy, Courtney Walsh, on Tuesday, while being asked whether he is interested to take the position, noted affirmative.

He therefore said, “I know BCB has been looking for a head coach. I’m willing to continue if they will approach to me. Its better for the team to have a coach as soon as possible,” Walsh said.

“Under a head coach, we could hold our present momentum and will also be able to implement the plans well. My prime target is to improve the standard of cricket in Bangladesh,” he further added.

The legendary Caribbean fast bowler said he enjoyed taking the responsibility during the Nidahas Trophy, “I enjoyed the opportunity much. Everyone was professional. Cricketers also enjoyed and showed me utmost respect,” he said.

“The only frustration was that we could not bring the trophy back home. Boys played really well. The loss in the final really hurt. It was definitely learning curve for us,” Courtney Walsh said.
