Warne picks his Australian squad of 15 players for 2019 WC
Australian cricket legend, Shane Warne, on Tuesday picked his Australian squad of fifteen players for the upcoming World Cup that is slated to be held in England and Wales. “My squad of 15, Warner, Short, Finch, Smith, Maxwell, Stoinis, Carey, Cummins, Starc, Richardson J (if fit), Zampa plus Marsh S, N Lyon, A Turner, Coulter-Nile thoughts followers? Agree ?,” he wrote on his Twitter account.
The spin magician made a bold move of not including Usman Khawaja in the World Cup squad. Khawaja is currently the world’s leading run-scorer in ODI format this year.

The left-hander Khawaja has been a scintillating performer of late as he scored 769 runs in 13 matches at an average of 59.15. Also, he became the joint-fastest Australian player to score 1,000 ODI runs in 27 innings.
Warne picked Darcy Short in his playing XI for the mega event. Short has been cosy with Warne as he worked under him at Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Short featured in just four ODI’s for Australia between June and November last year but didn’t really impress the selectors so far.
