Rishabh Pant has been in good touch with the bat. He scored 97 in the SCG Test which ended in a draw and scored a match-winning 89* in the Test series decider at The Gabba. He helped his team get past the finishing line by hitting a winning four as India won the series by 2-1.

Pant is currently involved in the second Test match against England at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. In the first Test, Pant stole the spotlight by hitting 91 off 88 balls including 9 fours and 5 sixes.

Fight broke out between Pant and Stokes

In the second Test, a heated quarrel broke out between Pant and Ben Stokes. The incident happened during the last session of Day 1 when England captain Joe Root bowled the penultimate over right before the stumps. During that over, England wicketkeeper Ben Foakes and fielders around Pant were frequently involved in some banter to unsettle Pant at the crease.

Before the 4th ball of the over, Indian wicketkeeper walked away from the crease and had complained to the umpires about the chatter. Although the over finished well with just a minute left on the day, England wanted another over in the day.

It was when Pant had a conversation with on-field umpires. At that point in time, all-rounder Ben Stokes intervened and it was when a fight broke out between Pant and Stokes. Although the England all-rounder didn’t look so serious, Pant was irritated by the happenings.

“Chennai crowd “Rishabh Pant, Rishabh Pant….” They just love him, even when Pant was going through a tough time in 2018, they cheered him. Chennai loves Pant,” a user tweeted.
