Dhaka Dynamite eliminate Chittagong Vikings in BPL 2019
In the eliminator match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019, Dhaka Dynamites have eliminated Chittagong Vikings defeating them by 6 wickets.
All rounder Sunil Narine starred the show with bat and ball as Dhaka Dynamites eclipsed Chittagong Vikings in the eliminator of the sixth season of BPL.
Narine scored 31 and claimed 4 wickets, has been adjudged man of the match.
The easier target of 135 was made easiest by Dynamites’ openers. Tharanga and Narine ruled over the Vikings’ bowlers in first five overs, put up 44 before Narine became the first to fall against Khaled Ahmed.
The 26 year old pacer did best in his part of the job, picked up 3 opposition batsmen but that never turned out to be scary for the Dynamites.
Tharanga hammered fifty and with Rony Talukdar and Nurul Hasan both added 20 each, Dhaka Dynamites raced to the victory target in just 16.4 overs.
Early before the innings break, a superlative bowling effort by Sunil Narine kept Dhaka Dynamites chances of eliminate Chittagong Vikings alive in the midst of Cameron Delport’s blistering batting.
On winning the coin, the Vikings went to bat first; the subsequent phase of the show for a while were dominated by two Chittagong openers Delport and Yasir Ali. Expensing less than three overs in the crease, the opening partnership settled 22 on the board.
Rubel Hossain brought the first cheer among the supporters in blue having Yasir Ali caught by the wicket keeper with a thick edge.
And with that on the card, Chittagong Vikings never really put hold their nerve on towards collecting a substantial total on the board.
The most unfortunate incident in the Vikings’ innings was untimely departure of Delport; the experience campaigner attempted to run hard towards the other end despite having the third man had the ball in hand; he never made the ground as Shadman stood still on the other end.
The good going with Delport was ruined at 36 (27 balls) striking five fours and a six.
Shadman who denied to sacrifice his wicket for his experience partner at the other end became the first victim of Narine in the match scoring a 19 ball 24.
Batting at fifth down, Mosaddek Hossain revived the sultry Vikings’ innings for a while, taking it cross passed hundred and then onwards. He was, however, the top scorer of the team with 40 off 35.
Narine strangled the opposition in his four overs spell; giving away 15 runs, the Windies all-rounder scalped 4 wickets.
