Watch: Imran Tahir’s premature celebration
Imran Tahir loves his epic running celebration more than anything else. Whenever he claims a wicket, he does this celebration in his trademark style. In the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League, CSK fans experienced some of Tahir’s super moves.
However, he took his trademark celebration to a whole new level on Tuesday, as he stormed towards the jam-packed crowd even before the umpire raised his finger, after trapping his former South African teammate AB de Villiers in front.
Spicing it up for Surrey in the Vitality T20 Blast against Middlesex, Imran Tahir was brought back into the bowling attack by the skipper as soon as AB de Villiers came out to bat.
We all know how dangerous if AB gets going. So, with the idea of removing him early on in the game, Imran Tahir was given the ball to do the trick and it paid off.
Tahir trapped de Villiers plumb in front of the stumps in only his third ball to him, as de Villiers failed to connect a reverse-sweep off a straightforward delivery.
What started as a tactical move turned out to be a masterstroke as Tahir sent AB packing at the best scene.
As soon as his ball hit de Villiers’ pad, Tahir screamed for an appeal and even before the umpire raised his finger, he launched his trademark running celebration by storming into the crowd in joy and excitement.
Tahir’s premature celebration was captured in the camera which was fit in the umpire’s cap.
