England are on their way to wrapping up their long tour to Sri Lanka as they started their last schedule of the tour in Colombo in the form of the final Test of three-match Test series.

In the ongoing third Test in Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, England won the toss and elected to bat first. The visitors managed to score 336 in their first innings after electing to bat first. In reply, the hosts scored only 240 in their first innings.

England spinners were once again in their toes as they did in the previous two matches. Interestingly the first wicket for Sri Lanka is an absolute stunner in the short-leg position from the opening batsman Keaton Jennings.

Sri Lanka off to a decent start with 31 for no loss at a position. Jack Leach bowled the 12th over for England and he was able to provide the breakthrough for Englishmen in the fourth ball of the over.

Jack Leach bowled a good length delivery to Danushka Gunathilaka. The batsman came down the track and attempted to loft it towards the mid-wicket. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to have a clean hit and edged it. Jennings at short-leg reacted quickly and grabbed the bowl.

The good reflex catch from Jennings opened the account for English bowlers. Like this catch, Keaton Jennings took one of the best ever catches in short-leg during the second Test in Kandy. With these catches, he is turning out to be a safe hand in the position.
