Watch: Neesham sustains a brutal injury in Super Smash tournament
New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham sustained a brutal injury during the Super Smash Twenty20 tournament. The all-rounder even took to his Instagram handle to share horrific pictures of his injury which he picked up on his left ring finger during the match between Wellington and Canterbury.
Neesham contributed with the bat by scoring 49 and helped Wellington to 154/7. Neesham got injured while bowling his over. His finger seemed like it lost its tip leaving the bone exposed after a horrific injury.
The New Zealand all-rounder sustained an injury while attempting to block a powerful drive off his own ball and then suffered a dislocation in his finger. He also uploaded images on Monday, adding that he underwent surgery on the left ring finger.
The New Zealand cricketer will be back into action by February. While posting the pictures, he also posted a caption that reads: “You’ve been warned.” He posted his on Instagram Stories including many photos of the dislocation.
The all-rounder also confirmed the success of his injury on his Instagram handle. “Just to clarify to everyone asking, I underwent a minor procedure last night to make sure my finger is still in good shape. Thankfully it was. The aim is to be back in time for the @SuperSmashNZ finals in early February 😊”

During Saturday’s encounter, Anderson leaked as many as 30 runs from 3.4 overs before he had to walk off the field with a horrific injury. Meanwhile, Wellington suffered their first defeat of the ongoing season. Previously, Wellington Firebirds player chipped in with 49 off 38 balls where he hit two fours and as many sixes in the first innings.
