South African right-arm fast bowler Lungi Ngidi bowled a stunning last over in the first T20I against England as he contained just 7 runs in the over to hand over a win to the hosts.

After the Test and ODI series in the lengthy outing between South Africa and England, both teams took on each other for the first T20I of the series of the shortest International format at East London.

South Africa batted first and put on 177 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of 8 wickets. England were asked to chase down 178 to win thr first game of the series.

The visitors were off to a good start and they were on track to chase down the total until the wicket of Alex Hales who top scored the England batting chart with 70 runs. The hosts took momentum back with them in the last five overs.

In the last over, England needed just 7 runs to win the game and Lungi Ngidi took the ball to deliver the last over. The last over turned out to be the victorious one for the hosts as they defended the target and won by just one run. England lost three wickets in the last over including the run out in the last ball when 3 runs were needed in one ball.
