Watch: Rohit caught using cuss word while relishing India’s win at The Gabba
Team India defied all the odds and scripted a historic win at The Gabba in Brisbane. India beat Australia by 3 wickets and clinched the Test series by 2-1. India also secured second Test series win in Australian soil. The first Test series win came under Virat Kohli’s leadership while the second Test series win came under Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy.
Rishabh Pant was adjudged the man of the match for his batting masterclass in India’s run-chase of 328. The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman played the best innings of his life by scoring an unbeaten 89* with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. Shubman Gill also played quite well with the bat as he scored a magnificent 91 in the run-chase. Cheteshwar Pujara scored 56 to his name.
Mohammed Siraj bagged his first fifer in his Test career. Shardul Thakur took 3 wickets in the first innings and 4 wickets in the second innings. He also scored an impressive 67 in the first innings and registered his top score in Test cricket as a debutant. Washington Sundar also had a good debut as he picked up 3 wickets in the first innings and scored a vital 62.
Rohit Sharma uses a swear word:
India lost 7 wickets in the run-chase but Pant was still at the crease where he kept on scoring runs and mounted pressure on the Aussies. He hit the winning runs for the team by smashing a four straight down the ground. Soon after the ball touched the ropes, Indian players were rejoicing the memorable win from the stands.
Rohit Sharma who was sitting next to Ajinkya Rahane enjoyed the win by hugging each other. At that time, Rohit was caught using cuss word and the video of the same went viral on social media sites.

“It means a lot to us. I don’t know how to describe this, but our boys showed a lot of character and determination after the Adelaide Test. I’m really proud of each individual. The conversation between Pujara and me was that he would bat normal, and I would take it on. It was all about intent. Credit to Pujara, the way he handled the pressure was magnificent.
Rishabh and Washington were very good at the end. Taking 20 wickets was the key, so we opted for 5 bowlers. Sundar brought the balance in place of Jadeja. The intention was clear to play five bowlers.
Siraj played two Tests, Saini just one, so it was inexperienced but the character shown by the bowlers and everyone else was incredible. We didn’t discuss anything about Adelaide. Just played wanted to play the remaining games with a good attitude and character without worrying about the result,” Rahane said at the post-match presentation.
