Watch: Umpire calls it a dead ball when Bhuvi bowls from behind the stumps
Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a delivery from behind the stumps and the umpire went onto calling it a dead ball in the third ODI at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Indian bowlers did a great job to restrict the Aussie batsmen for only 230 in their innings in the third and final ODI of the three-match ODI series at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
As there were some rain interruptions earlier on the day, Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl first. Indian new ball bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami did a great job with the new balk as they laid a strong foundation in the mandatory powerplay.
Once again, Australian skipper Aaron Finch was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the third time in a row. Just before the wicket ball of Aaron Finch, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a delivery from behind the stumps and the umpire called it as a dead ball.
As Finch had failures throughout this tour, the Aussie skipper tried a new technique in this game, standing well outside the crease to seam bowlers. That move made some disturbances to the line and length of Indian bowlers.
MS Dhoni suggested to Bhuvneshwar Kumar to bowl outside the pitch and behind the stumps. Bhuvneshwar Kumar executed the plan of MS Dhoni. But the on-field umpire called it a dead ball and the pacer was frustrated with the call from the umpire.
