However, Surprisingly there is no place for Chris Gayle who scored a half-century in a losing cause in the third ODI against Bangladesh in the squad.
On the other hand, Chadwick Walton and Sheldon Cottrell who weren’t part of the Windies squad that played against the ICC World XI at the Lord’s a few days back, have been included in the 13-member squad.
Although was not part of the recently concluded ODI series against Bangladesh, Cottrell was in the ODI squad and played the final match of the series in which he finished with figures of 1 for 59.
Meanwhile, the chairman of selectors says Gayle has been rested to give an opportunity to Cottrell. He said, “We have rested Chris Gayle and have added left-arm pacer, Sheldon Cottrell for variety to the bowling attack. The team reflects the last squad that performed well in the charity match in the UK.”
