Bashar not satisfied with DPL wickets

Bangladesh’s most prestigious domestic tournament, Dhaka Premier League (DPL) is going on full swing. But this year’s DPL has been producing much low-scoring matches. There’s only two 160+ runs matches between 18 matches and among these two, one of the match was abandoned due to rain.

Bashar not satisfied with DPL wickets

National team selector Habibul Bashar Sumon has expressed disappointment about the wickets. He mentioned ‘weather’ for this kind of wickets. Earlier, another selector Abdur Razzak said the same.

“Of course, rain is a big obstacle. There are many problems for rain. Overs are also being reduced in the match. The kind of wickets that are needed for T20 are not being given for this,” Bashar said.

“There is not enough time to make wickets because of the rain. That’s why the ideal wicket we want for T20 is not available. I haven’t seen that type of cricket I want to watch in T20 format yet.”

Even in unfavorable wickets, some of the batsmen are showing glimpses. Especially in matches of big teams, experienced cricketers have been occasionally playing destructive innings. “Even in this type of wicket, we have seen a number of performances. Several players are performing. They’re getting runs, bowling good. All in all, I would not say that the ideal pitch or we’re getting something what we want. But I can see something good in it,” he added.
