Dhoni ruled Malinga in IPL: Scott Styris

Former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris thinks Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni and Mumbai Indians cricketer Lasith Malinga are two of the best Indian Premier League (IPL) finishers. This is what the former all-rounder pointed out in an interview on a TV channel.

“The game of Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians means the best bowler’s fight with the best finisher in the world at bat. And in that fight, Dhoni always ruled Malinga.”

“The real thing is continuity in form,” he added. “Which showed always by Chennai. They fight to win trophies. They won most knock-out matches because of this mentality.”

“There is an expectation that many young cricketers will emerge from the IPL teams,” said Scott Styris. “And he fulfilled that expectation pretty well. They brought in more cricketers than any other IPL franchises.”

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar, however, feels that the rise of Mumbai Indians has put CSK on the challenge lately. “If we calculate the percentage of match wins, it can be seen that CSK is at the top,” Manjrekar said. “But lately, Mumbai Indians are getting better. They became a champion too and it’s for many times.”
