The current coronavirus situation has forced the ICC to make such a decision. Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board, South Africa Cricket Board, the Indian Cricket Board and the Cricket Association of Bengal office were closed. It was suggested to work at home.
This is the highest regulatory body in the world cricket. Members of the ICC’s governing body will sit in an emergency meeting next Friday with a video conference. The presidency will be completed by ICC chairman Shashank Manohar and will be monitored by ICC chief executive Manu Sawhney.
The emergency meeting will be discussed mainly because of the catastrophe caused by the epidemic coronavirus. Meanwhile, England’s domestic cricket, India’s IPL and all international series have been postponed. Fears have arisen that the Twenty20 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in next October can be postponed too.
In this case, the ICC will have to take into account the overall situation in the world. So the ICC decided to close its headquarters to ensure security. Until further instructions, everyone at the headquarters will work at home.
