IGP reviewed security for Bangladesh cricket team arrival

Islamabad police Inspector General (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan on Tuesday reviewed the security arrangements regarding Bangladesh national cricket team visit.


IGP along with Deputy Inspector General of Police (Security) Sarfraz Ahmed Falki, DIG (Operations) Waqar uddin Syed, AIG (Special Branch), SSPs Traffic, DPD, Security and other police officials were present in the meeting. A briefing about the total security arrangements were done in the meeting.

Foolproof security arrangements were made during Bangladesh team’s short visit in Pakistan to play the three match T20I series. The home team clinched the series 2-0 with the third and final match being washed away duo to torrential rain.

The IGP said that Islamabad police would maintain complete coordination with other law enforcement agencies during the next visits of Bangladesh Cricket team to participate in the Test and limited over series  and no flexibility in this regard will be tolerated.
