The next Asia Cup, figured to happen in 2020, just a month before the World T20, will be hosted by Pakistan.

ICC rejects PCB's compensation case against BCCI

But it is remain to be cleared whether the venues of the tournament will be within or outside the conflict zone of the subcontinent. Nazmul Hassan, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President said on Thursday,

"The 2020 Asia Cup will take place in Pakistan. They will tell us where we'll be holding it, since they are the hosts. India hosted it last time, but it was held in the UAE."

It is also plausible enough to take matches placed in the United Arab Emirates, which is Pakistan's home ground since the country had been deserted from international cricket on account of security concerns. Acquainted persons reveal that the relationship of Pakistan with arch rival India would be the catalyst regarding the selection of venues for the Asia Cup 2020. For the second time in the tournament's history, the 2020 Asia Cup will be in T20 format. The 2020 edition of the Asia Cup will be held in the month of September, just a month before the ICC Twenty20 World Cup. The previous edition of the Asia Cup was also held in Dubai after Pakistan refused to travel to India on account of political tension between these twos. In recent development, Pakistan are the joint hosts alongside Sri Lanka for the ongoing Emerging Asia Cup. All the matches in Group B - which included Bangladesh, UAE, and Hong Kong, along with hosts Pakistan - were hosted in Karachi.
