SL coach Mickey Arthur happy with team performance
Victorious Sri Lankan team is likely to be unchanged for the second Test against Zimbabwe, it is learnt here.
According to the highly placed sources in Zimbabwe, the team management is considering to persist with the same eleven for the second Test commencing at the same venue on Monday.
“Though the second Test is to be played on a different wicket, we are “most likely” to retain the same eleven”, a member of the support staff said.
“Dinesh Chandimal has recovered and we are not contemplating him to replace him”, he further added.
The team had a off-day on Friday.
“Even on Saturday, it is not a mandatory net session for the team. We have given them an option to those who want to practice in the morning on Saturday. But yes, they all will practice on Sunday evening”, the team manager, Ashantha de Mel, speaking exclusively, said.
“The players were given permission to go for site seeing on Friday and few players did go to a nearby site seeing…”.
The first Test was won by the visitors in the final session on last day. There were no celebrations but yes, the team members are in good mood and coach Mickey Arthur is pleased with the players performance. We are now looking forward to the second Test”, the manager, who is also a tour selector, said.
