Tanvir Islam was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, picking up career-best 8 wickets for 51 runs 28.3 overs. The left-arm spinner ended with match-haul of 13 wickets for 106 runs (5/55 in the first innings.

Captain Harry Tector and Curtis Campher batted through the first session of day three before Saif Hassan’s scalp of Campher (22) exposed the Irish lower order.

The pair added 60 runs for the fifth-wicket. Tector made 55 runs from 137 deliveries with seven boundaries.

Tanvir took all of the last five wickets in the second session to add to his three wickets from day two. Before this match, he did not have a single five-wicket haul in first-class matches.

The series now heads to limited-overs fixtures – five one-dayers and two T20 matches – across Chattogram and Dhaka.
