Three terrorists arrested in Lahore ahead of Bangladesh series
With the first phase of the bilateral engagement between Bangladesh and Pakistan are looming ahead, Punjab police successfully launched an intelligence based operation and arrested three terrorists.
All of them were captured from Haroonabad bypass. Police also seized arms from the men named Imran, Muhammad Abid Sohail and Muhammad Raza.
According to a CTD spokesperson, an authentic source led the operation from where police recovered 07 detonators, safety fuse, 02 boxes of ball bearings, 01 electric battery, 01 electric switch and ammunition material in two shopping bags.
CTD police registered a case against the accused and launced further investigation in this regard.
For the T20I series slated to begin from January 24 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Punjab police’s operation win have chalked out a comprehensive security plan according to which more than 10,000 police officers and officials will perform security duties including 17 SPs, 48 DSPs, 134 Inspectors, 592 Upper subordinates during the three matches of the series to ensure foolproof security of the players as well as citizens visiting the cricket stadium.
There will be three layers of security provided to the citizens who will only be allowed to enter into the stadium after complete checking. Citizens will be banned to bring prohibited items.
The authority has arranged round the clock monitoring of the residential places of teams, matches and movements in and round the cricket stadium through close circuit cameras.
Reports said that Dolphin Squad, Elite and Police Response Unit teams will continue their patrolling around the specific areas of the city.
Snipers will be deputed on the roof tops to keep an eye on all the movements during all the matches. Search and sweep operations are scheduled to be conducted on daily basis in the city particularly around the cricket stadium and designated areas.
Parking places would be reserved at different points of the city and citizens will be brought to the stadium through bus shuttle service.
