Watch: Steve Smith hits Dhoni-like helicopter shot against India
In the decisive one day international match between Australia and India, Steve Smith slammed a brilliant knock of 131 paving Australia’s way to the innings total of 286/9.
On his way to the hundred, Smith became the fourth fastest Aussie batsman to score 4000 limited over runs.
Coming to bat at number three in the fourth over, Smith almost carried the bat all through the Australian innings. He and Marnus Labuschagne stitched a 127 runs stand with the later scoring 54.
In the first delivery of the 23rd over, Smith wore a shot to the boundary rope off India fast bowler Navdeep Saini to reach into his fifty. And therefore, in the 44th over, Smith ran a single off Saini to complete the century mark. In the previous one day in Rajkot, Smith slenderly missed the century.
However in the 46th over of the innings, Smith displayed an incredible helicopter shot off Saini that became the highlight of his innings.
Steve Smith’s heroics went in vain as Australia lost the match with fifteen deliveries to spare and India took the series 2-1.
