Watch: Udana displays exceptional level of sportsmanship in MSL 2019
Cricket has seen good, bad and ugly moments during the passage of play. While there are players, officials do match-fixing and corruption behind the scenes to spoil the gentleman’s game, there are others who are uplifting the spirit of the game by producing some golden moments. Winning the fans’ hearts is something which is so special these days.
During the 28th game of the ongoing second season of the Mzansi Super League (MSL) 2019 between Paarl Rocks and Nelson Mandela Bay Giants in Paarl, Paarl Rocks all-rounder Isuru Udana displayed an exceptional level of sportsmanship. He became the talk of the town for his kind attitude.
The incident happened on the penultimate delivery of the penultimate over when Bay Giants batsman Heino Kuhn middled Udana delivery down the ground. With the ball hitting the non-striker Marco Marais, it then bounced back to the bowler.
With Marais find it hard to get back to the crease, Udana didn’t run-out the batsman because of him getting hit by Kuhn. This goes to show that Udana is a gentleman.
