Bangladesh announce Test squad for India tour

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced 16-man squad for the Test series against India. Mominul Haque will lead the side in the absence of Shakib Al Hasan.

Bangladesh announced the Test squad for the India tour with a big surprise as Mominul Haque has been named as the captain in the absence of Shakib Al Hasan, who has been banned from all forms of cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching ICC’s code of conduct.

It has been a day of absolute chaos in Bangladesh cricket as they announced the revised T20I squad just less a day before their departure to India. Including the revised T20I squad, the board also announced the Test squad for the tour.

Uncapped Saif Hassan has been included in the squad for his brilliant show in the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL). Fast bowlers Al-Amin Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman are also back into the side. Mustafizur was rested in the only Test against Afghanistan due to a slight injury. The other two pacers are Abu Jayed Rahi and Ebadot Hossain.

SQUAD: Mominul Haque (captain), Saif Hassan, Liton Das, Mohammad Mithun, Shadman Islam, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mosaddek Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Al-Amin Hossain, Abu Jayed Rahi, Ebadat Hossain.
